CBS resolves carriage dispute with Dish
Dish Network has reached a multi-year carriage deal with CBS, after its channels such as the Sports Network, Pop and Smithsonian Channel went dark earlier this week.
After failing to reach a deal earlier this week, CBS channels went dark across the Dish network, meaning its viewers would not get expected programming, such as the latest NFL games, over the Thanksgiving and holiday period.
The companies have now reached an agreement for an undisclosed amount and undisclosed terms. Dish customers will have access to 28 channels restored.
Warren Schlichting, Dish executive vice president of marketing, programming and media sales, said: “We are grateful to our customers for their patience this holiday week as months of work has resulted in a deal that delivers CBS for years to come.”
