Apple wants viewers to See original epic drama
In its latest push for originals, Apple has ordered an epic futuristic drama written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight (pictured).
See will be directed by The Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence, according to Deadline, which first reported the story.
The drama will arrive from the joint venture between Chernin Entertainment and Endeavour Content.
See will become Apple’s most recent push for originals after it announced its intent to buy rights to a host of scripted shows this time last year.
It was announced last week that Apple will deepen its relationship with Reese Witherspoon and has ordered thriller drama series Are You Sleeping from her prodco Hello Sunshine. The Chernin-Endeavor JV is also attached to that.
The company is already working with the actor and producer on a comedy drama she will star in alongside Jennifer Aniston.
Apple, which is heavily pushing into original content, has also been working on a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories and another sci-fi drama from Ronald D. Moore.
