Fremantle taps ex-CMT exec for unscripted post
FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has hired former CMT development head Jayson Dinsmore as president of alternative programming and development.
Dinsmore replaces former executive vice president Toby Gorman, who exited last year to join a new A. Smith unit created in November.
In his new role, Dinsmore will lead the company’s domestic and global unscripted development strategy. FMNA’s current programmes include America’s Got Talent, Family Feud and The Price Is Right.
Dinsmore was formerly head of development at Viacom-owned CMT and departed the channel last September, but left as Paramount Network’s Keith Cox took over development. He spent over a decade on alternative development at NBC prior to this.
“Jayson is one of the most well-respected and admired executives within the television industry,” said Jennifer Mullin, CEO at FMNA.
“He is innovative, creative and brings an enormous amount of experience in both development and production. He shares our ambition at FMNA and I am delighted to have him lead our unscripted team.”
