Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine hires CEO
Reese Witherspoon’s (pictured) production company has hired Sarah Harden as its permanent CEO, following her spell as interim chief exec since June 2017.
Harden was formely president at Otter Media, where she oversaw the growth of the digital media venture, including a partnership with Hello Sunshine itself.
Witherspoon formed Hello Sunshine in 2016, in partnership with Otter, the joint venture formed between The Chernin Group and AT&T. The prodco focuses on female-driven stories.
In addition, Hello Sunshine has hired Huffington Post’s Charlotte Koh as head of digital media and programming. She’ll be responsible for producing unscripted, social and editorial content across the prodco’s distribution channels.
“From the moment I met Sarah Harden, I have been in awe of her vast understanding of business development and digital media brands around specific communities,” said Witherspoon.
“Sarah is a force of nature. Not only does she believe that women should have every opportunity to succeed in media, she actually makes it happen.”
Hello Sunshine has multiple film and TV projects in the works currently, including an untitled morning show starring Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, which became Apple’s first signed series.
Apple also picked up a second scripted title from Witherspoon at the start of the year named Are You Sleeping?
