Goalpost moves to All3Media first-look deal

Cleverman coproducer Goalpost Pictures has signed a first-look deal with All3Media International.

Following the agreement, Australia-based Goalpost will see its upcoming programming distributed by UK-based All3’s sales team.

The company is best known for ABC, BBC Three and SundanceTV sci-fi drama Cleverman, to which New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures is also attached.

It is also behind feature film The Sapphires, and its next TV series, Fighting Season, will broadcast this year.

Rosemary Blight, Ben Grant, Kylie du Fresne and Cass O’Connor launched the prodco back in 2008, having previously run RB Films together.

All3 International executive VP of content Maartje Horchner called the founders “absolute trailblazers for their craft – creating high end Australian drama with international appeal”.

For All3 International, the deal comes after managing director Louise Pedersen vowed to double investment in drama in 2017. This was part of a wider strategy switch towards an indie studio model.
