NATPE Budapest rebrands for new int’l outlook
NATPE Budapest is re-naming as NATPE Budapest International in order to reflect the global TV market’s extended focus beyond CEE to the EMEA and worldwide content business.
The new NATPE Budapest International says it will include a robust content marketplace when it takes place at the InterContinental Hotel from 25-28 June 2018.
Reflective of the change, it’s annual Pitch & Play Live! event, will extend its entry criteria to include innovative independent producers from the wider EMEA region.
The goal of Pitch & Play Live!, now in its third year, is to showcase and recognize original format ideas with international potential.
In addition to media exposure, the winning format owner receives complementary registration and accommodation for NATPE Miami 2019, as well as a series of development meetings with leading distributors in attendance.
NATPE president and CEO JP Bommel (pictured) said: “NATPE is about bringing people together to learn from one another – the more we engage and find common ground, the better we are able to navigate the evolving TV ecosystem.
“CEE is burgeoning with innovation and vibrancy, but as the world becomes a smaller place, we need to capitalise on the wider, growing talent pool present in the EMEA region.
“Last year’s Pitch & Play Live! event was a huge success, with the added bonus of a significantly reduced registration fee we look forward to seeing some even more creative, culturally and geographically diverse format ideas in 2018.”
