TRX signs Lionsgate catalogue
Online rights trading platform TRX has reached an agreement with studio Lionsgate to carry 1300 hours of programming on its service.
The deal adds to a roster of more than 600 buyers and 100 distributors that have already registered for the TRX service since its launch, including BBC Worldwide, Sky Vision, All3Media, Cineflix, Off the Fence and Beta Films. TRX now has over 55,000 hours of available content and is adding an estimated 10-12 new buyers every week.
Commenting, Lionsgate EVP of worldwide distribution Gene George (pictured) said: “Our agreement with TRX enhances our ability to maximise the value of our 16,000-title library and reach the broadest array of licensing partners around the world. We’re pleased to collaborate with a service that will increase the efficiency of our global distribution and help us extract maximum value from our catalogue.”
TRX CEO Matthew Frank added: “We’re proud to be adding a leading studio like Lionsgate to the growing list of marquee names who see that TRX can support their sales teams and maximise the value of their catalogues. They represent the kind of major content platforms who we are continuing to add to our line-up on a regular basis.”
TRX enables licensing deals to be processed securely online, from discovering and screening content, checking avails, negotiating rights and price through TRX’s unique deal grid all the way through to signing a contract, maximizing efficiency for buyers and sellers alike. The platform has attracted funding in excess of $15m from investors including Sky Ventures, Channel 4 and Edge Investments.
