Apple orders another drama from Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine

Apple has ordered a thriller hailing from Reese Witherspoon’s prodco Hello Sunshine, making it the third title commissioned from the banner.

Are You Sleeping is a thriller starring Oscar winner Octavia Spencer (The Help), that is also produced by Chernin Entertainment and Endeavour Content.

The title is based on the true-crime novel by Kathleen Barber, which had originally been put in development at Apple’s video programming unit.

Sarah Koenig, the creator and producer of popular true-crime podcast Serial, will consult on the series which looks at the impact of pursuing justice on the public stage.

Spencer will act as executive producer via her Orit Entertainment. Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will exec produce for Hello Sunshine and Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo for Chernin entertainment.

This is the third series to come out of Hello Sunshine for Apple. Witherspoon also has a drama starring Jennifer Aniston and a comedy toplined by Kristen Wiig arriving on the platform.
