eOne brings Stan’s The Other Guy to North America
Entertainment One (eOne) is bringing Stan’s half-hour original series The Other Guy to Hulu in the US and Super Channel in Canada.
The series will begin streaming on Hulu starting June 28 and will premiere on Super Channel August 13.
The title takes a look at break-ups in the digital age, and the harsh reality of recovering from heartbreak. Stan, an Australian VOD provider, claims that the series is one of the most binged titles of 2017 on the platform.
Created by and starring Australian comedian Matt Okine, the series follows a successful radio host, AJ Amon (Okine), who finds himself unexpectedly back in the dating pool for the first time in a decade, after discovering his long-term girlfriend has been having an affair with his best friend.
Season two of The Other Guy is currently in development with Stan and Create NSW. Filmed in Sydney, Australia, the series is written by Okine and Becky Lucas (Please Like Me), script produced by Greg Waters (Soul Mates, Dance Academy) and directed by Kacie Anning (Fragments of Friday).
An Aquarius Films and Entertainment One TV Australia production, the series received production investment funding from Screen Australia and Create NSW.
