Wonderbly partners Sixteen South for Lost My Name series
Wonderbly, a global publisher of personalised books for children, has unveiled a partnership with Belfast-based animation studio Sixteen South.
Together, the two firms will develop a 52 x 7 minute animated series based around the bestselling title Lost My Name.
Helen McAleer, former MD of Walker Books and founder of Walker Productions’ has been named as executive producer of the series.
Drawing on some of the key themes and characters from the books, the partnership will develop a magical, character-building series where kids’ personal challenges turn into life-changing adventures. It will be pitched to broadcasters this summer.
Colin Williams, creative director of Sixteen South Studios said: “From the moment we met Wonderbly, we connected through our passion for great design and storytelling. We’re really enjoying the process of developing such an innovative, well-known and loved series of books for the screen.”
Founded in 2014, Wonderbly is backed by the likes of Google Ventures, Greycroft, Project-A and Ravensburger. Over 3.5 million personalised stories have been sent around the world since the launch of the Lost My Name book.
Wonderbly co-founder and CEO Asi Sharabi said: “We were looking for the right creative partner to embark on this new adventure and Sixteen South’s heartfelt and exuberant approach to children’s animation, coupled with remarkable attention to detail, is exactly what we were looking for.”
