Denmark’s DR1 picks up BBC Studios’ Meet The Humans
BBC Studios has licensed the format for Meet The Humans to Danish public service channel DR1.
The six-episode series will be produced by Mastiff and is currently in production for an Autumn TX.
Meet the Humans was originally commissioned for the global BBC Earth channel and presented by Michael Mosley (Trust Me I’m A Doctor). It puts humans under the microscope to study the science behind everyday behaviour. From inside a secret observational room experts analyse the contributors’ every move during group activities, exploring the animal instincts that drive human behaviour.
Andre Renaud (pictured), VP format sales, Western Europe said, “We are thrilled to be working with DR1 on this amazing social experiment. Being able to bring Michael Mosely’s work to Danish audiences through Mastiff and DR is a great opportunity to bring to life the science behind this entertaining format and further uncover who we are as people.”
Pil Gundelach Brandstrup, channel controller, DR1 said: “Partnering with BBC Studios came at an ideal time for us as we focus on science this year on DR. The new series will be part of a wealth of programming planned for the genre on DR1 as well as other channels and platforms. We’ve already focused on, among other things, the genius of the human body, but now we plan to take this further by zooming in on the behavioural perspective of humans.”
