Who Wants To Be A Millionaire set for 2019 return
ITV is set to bring back the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? reprisal fronted by Jeremy Clarkson in 2019.
Following the success of the Millionaire anniversary specials this May, ITV is set to air a new season as a stripped event that will run for ten episodes.
The return of the classic format launched with 6.1 million viewers and a 31% TV share in May. This year, Millionaire was aired as a seven-episode special to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
New episodes will play out on ITV early in 2019 and will also see the return of its host Jeremy Clarkson.
Members of the public will have a chance to win £1 million if they can correctly answer 15 questions. Format features such as Ask The Audience will return, along with new feature Ask The Host.
Stellify Media will produce the new series for ITV with Fiona Clark executive producing along with joint managing directors Kieran Doherty and Matthew Worthy.
The title was commissioned by Sioban Greene, ITV’s head of entertainment, with commissioning editor Ben King.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is a Sony Pictures Television format.
Worthy said: “Ask The Host is back! And a quick tip for future contestants: don’t use it on questions about fine art, haute cuisine or the scouting association.”
