Japan’s NHK gets Younger

TV Land drama Younger is heading to Japan.

Endemol Shine International has struck a multi-series deal with Japanese broadcaster NHK for the drama, which centers on a woman who lies about her age to get ahead in the competitive world of publishing.

Produced by Viacom-owned cable network TV Land, the series stars Sutton Foster and is written and executive produced by entertainment icon Darren Star (Sex and the City).

While series five premiered in the US on TV Land on June 5, the show will move over to Paramount Network for its sixth series.

The deal was negotiated by Endemol Shine International executive sales director for Asia Rashmi Bajpai.

Younger has sold into 160 countries, most recently heading to Prosieben in Germany, while other international partners include CTV Two (Canada), Discovery (Netherlands, Poland, Turkey), SET (United Kingdom, Ireland, Malta, Russia), Fox (Italy, Balkans), Hot! (Israel), Skjár Einn (Iceland), Showmax (Africa), STAN (Australia), Turner (Germany, Spain), TV2 (Norway) and iflix (Asia).
