Endemol’s Family Food Fight heads to Portugal
Portugal is the latest territory to scoop up Endemol Shine Group’s Family Food Fight.
Public broadcaster RTP has ordered a 13 x 90-minute series of the format from Endemol’s Shine Iberia production banner, to be known locally as Famílias Frente a Frente.
Created by Endemol Shine Australia for and with Nine Network, Family Food Fight sees families face off as they put their homespun recipes to the test, with one emerging as the winner and going home with a cash prize.
The show, which has completed a second series in Australia, was recently picked up by US broadcaster ABC, where it will air later this year. Meanwhile Argentina’s Viacom-owned Telefe also adapted the format, produced by Endemol Shine Latino.
RTP is to air the format later this month.
Family Food Fight is the latest Endemol format to travel internationally. To date, All Together Now has sold into 11 markets including Brazil, Australia and across Europe, while Big Bounce Battle has sold into France and the US, and is also returning to RTL Germany.
Hélder Marques, executive producer for Family Food Fight Portugal, said: “Family Food Fight is a diverse, multigenerational and celebratory format, everything that Portuguese cooking sets out to be. We are excited to be the first European territory airing the series and we believe it will resonate strongly with our viewers.”
