Netflix orders medical thriller from Childrens Hospital team

Netflix has ordered scripted series Medical Police from the team behind Emmy Award-winning comedy series Childrens Hospital.

The 10 x 30-minute series will see two American physicians stationed at a paediatric hospital in São Paulo, Brazil, discover a civilization-threatening virus. They are in turn recruited as government agents in a race against time to find a cure and uncover a dark conspiracy.

Erinn Hayes and Rob Huebel will star as the leading physicians. Malin Akerman, Lake Bell, Rob Corddry, and Ken Marino, will appear in recurring guest star roles.

The team behind Childrens Hospital will write and executive produce the series including Corddry, Krister Johnson, Jonathan Stern, David Wain.

Wain and Bill Benz will direct. Warner Horizon Scripted Television is behind the project.
