Spun Gold TV reveals ‘Secrets of the Royal Babies’ for ITV

Spun Gold has been commissioned by ITV to produce an hour-long doc focused on royal babies, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepare for the arrival of their first child.

Secrets of the Royal Babies (1 x 60 minutes) explores what Meghan Markle can learn from the royal mothers before her – from Queen Victoria through to Princess Diana and the most recent royal mum, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Interviewing historians, royal experts and insiders, the programme explores unusual royal birthing traditions, how to cope with the domestic politics of life with a royal nanny and how to juggle mothering with royal duties.

The programme visits the Norland College nanny school in Bath which is the go-to place for royal childcare, and Glamis Castle in Scotland, where young Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret could escape the glare of the media and formality of the Royal Court.

Secrets of the Royal Babies is produced and directed by Anabelle Marshall and executive producers are Bridget Boseley and Mira King.

It was commissioned by Jo Clinton Davis and Nicola Lloyd at ITV and it is being distributed internationally by All3Media International.
