Zaslav, Darroch to headline RTS Cambridge Convention
Discovery president and CEO David Zaslav (left) and Sky group chief executive Jeremy Darroch have been confirmed as the first international keynote speakers at this year’s Royal Television Society Cambridge Convention.
ITV chief executive Carolyn McCall is to chair this year’s Convention, one of the most high-profile TV industry events in the UK calendar.
Other speakers include BBC director general Tony Hall, Channel 4 CEO Alex Mahon, Ofcom CEO Sharon White, Chief Executive of Ofcom, and Jeremy Wright MP, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
The 2019 event, which takes place at King’s College in Cambridge from the 18-20th of September, is titled “Content, Consumers, and everything in between”.
McCall said: “This theme reflects the much used phrase “the golden age of TV.” The abundance of content and the choice for viewers has never been so vast. Technology has meant viewers can now watch what they choose, when and how they want. This convention will explore how consumers feel about this and how media organisations – whether broadcasters, OTT’s or producers – are responding to these changes.”
