Studiocanal sells Years And Years abroad
The European distributor has struck a raft of international sales for BBC One, HBO and Canal+ co-production Years And Years.
HBO Europe has picked up Years And Years (6 x 60 minutes), Trust Me (series 1 and 2), as well as the Iberian rights to thriller Sanctuary (8 x 60 minutes). BBC Benelux has also snapped up Years and Years, Come Home and The Five.
Studiocanal has also struck an agreement with HBO Latin America for Years and Years and thriller Moscow Noir (8 x 60 minutes). In Russia, Amedia TV’s streamer Amediateka has bought Years and Years, Sanctuary and 90-minute drama feature The Child in Time. Finally, DBS Israel has acquired Years and Years, Pros And Cons and The Lawyer.
Beatriz Campos, head of international sales for Studiocanal, said: “We had an amazing response to Years and Years at MIPTV, which demonstrates the positive impact of having high-profile co-production partners, such as HBO, BBC and Canal+ on board. Years and Years’ stellar writing credits, by way of Russell T Davies, its extraordinary cast and a globally relevant political storyline have gone a long way to generate interest around the world.”
