TVF closes raft of factual sales in Spain
Factual distributor TVF International has closed a raft of sales to broadcasters across Spain.
Public broadcaster RTVE has picked up ABC commissioned China Love (1×57 minutes), which explores China’s multi-million dollar pre-wedding photography industry with exclusive access to the biggest studios and the big spending couples themselves.
RTVE also licenced ARTE’s Breast’s Uncovered (1×52 minutes) and Pernel’s investigative health special Fresh Fruit Fakers (1×53 minutes).
Catalan public broadcaster TV3 picked up a package of 38 hours, including TVF’s aerial series The World from Above (148×26 minutes) and eco-adventure series Across the World with Te Radar (16×23 minutes).
The World from Above was also licensed by Canal Viajar alongside Sky’s Hidden Italy (16×25 minutes) and luxury travel series Glamping Adventures (8×23 minutes).
In the current affairs space, TV3 licensed BBC-commissioned Accidental Anarchist (1×59 minutes), which tells the story of a leading UK diplomat’s transformation to become an anarchist, and Channel NewsAsia’s Undercover Investigation doc, In the Name of Honour: Pakistan’s Honour Killings (1×48 minutes).
Also from the Undercover Investigation franchise, Opium Wars: Myanmar’s Drug Vigilantes (1×48 minutes) was picked up by Basque pubcaster ETB alongside health documentaries ABC Australia’s The Addiction Machine (1×52 minutes) and Mediaworks’ What’s Really In Our Food? Special (1×52 minutes).
Elsewhere in Iberia, Telefonica picked up travel and fishing show i(16×46 minutes); Prime TV’s Untamed with Davey Hughes (9×30 minutes); and BBC commissioned Johnny Kingdom and the Bears of Alaska (1×60 minutes) went to Cazavisión TV; and AMC Networks snapped up series from the TVF’s lifestyle and entertainment catalogue including Dog’s Best Friend (12×22 minutes) in 4K, Discovery’s lifeguard rescue series Rio Rescue (16×23 minutes), and UKTV’s culinary travel series John Torode’s Asia (10×23 minutes).
Irini Koulovasilopoulos, who joined the TVF International team as a Spanish-language specialist in early 2018, said: “We are proud to be working with such a broad range of broadcasters in Spain, from the autonómicas to Pan-Iberian networks and specialist channels.”
