Netflix’s Hastings to keynote at RTS
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings is to deliver a keynote address at this year’s Royal Television Society (RTS) convention, which takes place this September in Cambridge, UK.
Hastings will appear as an international keynote for the RTS Cambridge Convention alongside fellow speakers including ABC Studios’ exec VP of business operations Howard Davine; Tim Hincks, co-CEO of UK producer Expectation; and All3Media CEO Jane Turton.
Actor and comedian Lenny Henry is also slated to appear, along with Linda Yaccarino, chairman of advertising and client partnerships at NBCUniversal, and Karen Blackett, chair of agency MediaCom UK.
The 2019 event, which is set to take place at King’s College in Cambridge between 18-20 September, is titled ‘Content, Consumers, and everything in between’.
Theresa Wise, CEO of the RTS, said: “Reed has been a transformative figure in the television industry globally and I am sure everyone is keen to hear first hand his perspectives and insights.”
Previously announced international keynotes for 2019 include Sky boss Jeremy Darroch; Discovery president and CEO David Zaslav; BBC director-general Tony Hall; Channel 4 chief exec Alex Mahon; and Carolyn McCall, who heads up ITV.
