Edinburgh TV Festival unveils Louis Theroux session

Documentary maker Louis Theroux is to join writer and journalist Dawn O’Porter in a discussion about his career at this year’s Edinburgh TV Festival.

The session, When Dawn Met Louis…, will see Theroux reflect on his two-decade long career and explore the genre of authored documentaries.

It will include discussion around doc makers such as Michael Moore and Nick Broomfield, to shows fronted by popular figures such as Stacey Dooley and Reggie Yates, as well as self-publishers on platforms such as YouTube.

As part of the session, Theroux will reveal a selection of his current favourite clips and discuss how he chooses his subjects.

Theroux’s recent docs have included Altered States and Surviving America’s Most Hated Family, the latter airing on BBC2 and about his most recent revisit to the Westboro Baptist Church in the US.
