FirstLook TV reveals advisory panel for true crime
Nurses Who Kill producer FirstLook TV has appointed a raft of law enforcement, criminology and psychology experts to a new panel that will advise on its crime programming.
The group will provide consultancy to FirstLook TV’s production and research teams, with a remit to uphold accuracy and duty of care standards for content.
The panel includes a former Metropolitan Police detective, Colin Sutton, Scotland Yard detective Peter Bleksley, and criminologist Dr Jane Monckton-Smith.
Psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos and veteran US cop Brian Harris will also appear on the panel, with the five members working with FirstLook TV on a non-exclusive basis to assist with programming for broadcasters and SVOD services.
The prodco, whose Nurses Who Kill show is produced for Netflix, is also behind shows including 21st Century Killer, Stalkers Who Kill and The Jury Room and has worked with companies such as the BBC, Foxtel and Reelz.
Will Hanrahan, founder and creative director at FirstLook TV, told TBI: “We always strive to produce our programmes to the highest standards of broadcasting by rigorously checking facts, honouring duty of care to victims and portraying a balanced account of events.
“All five members of this crime advisory panel are experts in their respective fields and will further continue to help us achieve these gold standards for many years to come.”
