Nine Network alum appointed Seven Studios development head
Nine Network’s former head of production and development Trent Chapman has been appointed to oversee development at Seven Studios in Australia.
Chapman becomes head of development at Seven Studios, reporting into Andrew Backwell, director of production for non-scripted. He replaces Sonya Wilkes, who has been named co-head of unscripted.
The appointment marks a return to Seven for Chapman, who worked at the company for a decade as an exec producer on shows including the local reboots of The Amazing Race and Beauty And The Geek.
During his tenure at Nine, Chapman was behind shows such as Travel Guides as well as the Australian version of Married At First Sight.
Before that, he spent three years at MasterChef producer Endemol Shine Australia, where he headed up production and development. His vacated position at Nine is not set to be filled, according to local reports.
