Fremantle scores with five renewals as ABC extends summer gameshows
US broadcaster ABC has extended an array of its gameshows as part of its ‘Summer Fun & Games’ programming strand, with Fremantle scoring five renewals.
The $100,000 Pyramid, Match Game and To Tell The Truth are all being extended into fifth seasons while a second run of Card Sharks is also in the works.
A sixth edition of Celebrity Family Feud and a second season of Press Your Luck have also been commissioned, joining the already announced second run of Holey Moley.
The shows helped power ABC ratings during the summer, with the network topping the rankings among adults aged 18-49 for the first time since 1995.
Word-association game The $100,000 Pyramid is from SMAC Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television, while mini-golf competition series Holey Moley is produced by Eureka Productions and Unanimous Media. Card Sharks, Match Game, Press Your Luck, Celebrity Family Feud and To Tell The Truth are all from Fremantle.
