Marcy Ross steps down at ‘Jack Ryan’ producer Skydance Television

Jack Ryan producer Skydance Television is looking for a new chief after incumbent Marcy Ross revealed she would be stepping down.

Ross, who was president at the US producer’s television arm, helped to launch Skydance’s TV interests in 2013. The company’s output now includes Netflix drama Altered Carbon and Apple TV+ show Foundation, as well as the aforementioned Jack Ryan for Amazon.

Ross previously worked at Fox as EVP of current programming with credits on shows such as Glee, New Girl and Bones. Skydance’s chief creative officer Dana Goldberg is in interim charge while a successor is found.

Ross, meanwhile, will remain exec producer on shows including Grace And Frankie following her exit, which will see her move to an overall production deal with Skydance.

David Ellison, Skydance CEO, said: “Six and a half years ago, we had the idea to expand Skydance beyond film into television. Marcy took that idea and through her leadership forged Skydance Television into a reality from the ground up.

“She was responsible for building a bold slate of exciting series such as Grace And Frankie, Jack Ryan and Altered Carbon, just to name a few. I’m extremely grateful for her friendship and am pleased we will continue to work with Marcy in her new role as a producer and creator, where I know together we’ll continue to have even more success.”

In a memo to staff, Ross said: “Anyone who knows me well knows that I am happiest when I’m in a room with talent — with ideas flying and creating worlds — or on a set, rolling up my sleeves and problem solving.

“Being in the moment, working closely with artists, is my happy place and that is what I want for my next chapter.”
