DRG strikes first deal with BritBox
Distributor DRG has struck a deal with BritBox covering a package of British drama and comedy titles.
The new ITV and BBC-owned streaming service has acquired three series of award-winning comedy Detectorists (19×30-mins), which is available to view now.
Later this week, on 23rd January, BritBox will premiere Synchronicity Films drama The Cry (4×60-mins), starring Jenna Coleman (Victoria) and Ewen Leslie (Safe Harbour).
The other titles in the DRG package, which will be made available to BritBox subscribers early in 2020, are all three series of Tracey Ullman’s Show (19 x 30-mins) and comedy drama Babylon (1×90-min & 6×60-mins).
Elin Thomas, DRG’s EVP of sales was responsible for the deal with BritBox. She said: “DRG has a terrific catalogue of great British content, created by some of the UK’s premier producers, so naturally we are enthusiastic supporters of BritBox and thrilled to have some of our titles join the line-up so soon after launch.
