Renowned Films hires ‘Love Island’ commissioner
London and LA-based Renowned Films has hired former ITV and Channel 4 commissioner Kate Maddigan as head of studios, and promoted chief operating officer Mark Raeburn.
Maddigan was most recently head of entertainment at London-based indie Little Gem. At ITV, Maddigan worked on the reboot of Love Island, as well as working on X Factor and Big Star Little Star.
“I’ve kept an eye on the team at Renowned since they launched the company and always admired their creativity and youthful outlook,” said Maddigan. “In a market that’s so focused on the younger demographic, I can’t wait to blend my experience with the Renowned team’s energy to form a force to be reckoned with.”
Raeburn has been named as managing director, with chief executive and creative director Max Welch now splitting his time between the US and the UK to help grow Renowned’s US business.
Raeburn will be responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations and strategy, with a key focus on its UK business.
Raeburn said: “Over the last 12 months, we’ve become the fourth fastest-growing production company in the UK, won Edinburgh’s Indie of the year and produced more than 40 hours of content across both sides of the pond.”
Renowned’s credits include Bravo’s Backyard Envy and Channel 4’s Peng Life.
