Netflix rolls out top 10 lists globally
Netflix is rolling out its top 10 lists of its most popular content around the world.
The streamer has been experimenting with top 10 lists in Mexico and the UK for the last six plus months, prompting Netflix to expand them internationally.
Its interface will now show the overall top 10 titles in a subscriber’s country, as well as the top 10 most popular series and films when users click on the movies and TV shows tabs. The list will be updated daily.
“Members in both countries have found them useful, so we are now rolling them out to even more,” said Cameron Johnson, Netflix’s director of product innovation.
Shows and films that make these lists will also have a special “Top 10” badge, wherever they appear on Netflix.
The move comes several months after Netflix pledged to be more open about sharing information about how series and films are performing on the site.
The first ever Top 10 list for the US was topped by the new show from Red Arrow Studios company Kinetic Content, Love is Blind.
