Canneseries unveils 10-strong drama line-up
Canneseries has unveiled a 10 strong drama competition line-up for its third edition, which runs alongside MipTV from March 27-April 1.
The TV drama festival’s competition includes world premieres for Norway’s Atlantic Crossing, German/Chilian co-production Dignity (pictured above), Danish/French co-pro Kidnapping, Israeli dramas Losing Alice and The Grave, Swedish series Partisan and Top Dog, and Finnish drama Man in Room 301.
Also playing in competition is Apple TV+’s BBC Studios produced comedy Trying, as well as the international premiere of Russian drama 257 Reasons To Live.
Hollywood producer Gale Ann Hurd (The Walking Dead, Aliens, Terminator) will preside over the international jury while Battlestar Galactica’s Jamie Bamber heads the short form competition jury. David Hasselhoff is the festival’s guest of honour and actors Judith Light and Sydney Sweeney will be awarded career awards.
“With its first two editions, Canneseries offered a preview of series that went on to become major global events when they aired internationally (Vernon Subutex, When Heroes Fly, Killing Eve, Years and Years to name just a few). Canneseries’ aim is to showcase creative, daring and innovative series in all formats in the magical setting of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes,” said Albin Lewi, Canneseries artistic director.
