Conecta Fiction sets September date for hybrid on-site/online forum
The fourth edition of Spanish co-production forum Conecta Fiction has rebranded itself as Conecta Fiction Reboot – a hybrid online and on-site event to be held in Spain in June and September.
The program of activities will open virtually during the week of 15 June, which is the same month when the event would have taken place before the Coronavirus pandemic hit.
The Lat American and European forum, which is supported by the regional government of Navarra, will then take place on-site at the Baluarte Congress Center and Auditorium of Navarra, in Pamplona-Iruña, from 2-3 September.
The decision to hold a hybrid event was made by the organisers following consultation with industry executives who have participated in previous editions of the event. Organisers said they had taken the health protocols of their companies and respective countries into consideration.
Conecta Fiction director Géraldine Gonard said: “This hasn’t been an easy decision, but it has been necessary. It follows the line defined by other international event managers with whom we have been in contact, such as Series Manía, Sunny Side Of The Doc or MIFA.
“We want Conecta Fiction Reboot to offer a real opportunity for a professional reunion where talent and new co-productions will regain their place, and we all resume little by little a path towards the recovery of the international industry that we cannot and must not lose.
“We would also like to highlight the proactiveness and agility of the Navarra government and their associated entities when reacting to a changing scenery, showing a great example of the good operation of the public administrations.”
