Pluto TV adds WarnerMedia & Eros Int’l execs for content push
ViacomCBS-owned streaming service Pluto TV has made two senior hires – adding Scott Reich as SVP of programming and Shampa Banerjee as chief product officer.
Reich was formerly general manager at Fullscreen Media – now part of WarnerMedia – and will now lead on programming strategy for content across Pluto TV’s 250+ live and original channels, as well as its licensed shows and films.
At Fullscreen, Reich oversaw the company’s subscription service strategy and managed original scripted and unscripted original programming, content licensing, programme planning, marketing, creative services, content operations and analytics.
Banerjee joins Pluto TV from the same position at India’s Eros International, which merged with US outfit STX Entertainment earlier this month. She will oversee the design and development of Pluto TV’s user- experience, distribution partners, content partners and advertisers.
During her time at Eros International, which has been described as the Netflix for Bollywood, Banerjee helped to grow the service from inception to 150 million global subscribers across 135 countries.
Both will report to Pluto TV CEO and co-founder Tom Ryan.
“With innumerable new partner deals, channel launches and acquisitions coming to the platform regularly, Scott will be playing a critical role in optimising our robust content portfolio for our viewers,” said Ryan.
“Shampa is a global technology leader with deep experience in product development to usher in high growth for brands and positive experiences for consumers,” added Ryan. “We look forward to having her expertise in this role as we continue to grow our audience and platform capabilities.”
