Nevision invests in new Nordic drama prodco Nevis

Top Scandinavian producers Anni Faurbye Fernandez, Moa Westeson and Cindy Hanson have teamed to set up a new Nordic drama prodco, Nevis Productions, with investment from London-based Nevision.

The three co-founders are well-known for their production experience on numerous acclaimed high-end dramas and their new joint venture will see offices open in Stockholm and Copenhagen with plans to create “high-end scripted content” to appeal to both local Scandinavian markets and global audiences.

Fernandez was a producer and CEO at Yellow Bird and Good Company Films and a producer at Cinenord, and has worked on acclaimed productions including Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy, David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and both the Swedish and British versions of Wallander.

Westeson has experience as a feature film producer and co-producer at Breidablick and SF Studios and on TV drama at Cinenord. Her credits include Vegas, the trilogy Jerry Maya’s Detective Agency, Atlantic Crossing and Veum.

Hanson also worked at Cinenord, as a development producer and series creator, and spearheaded the company’s slate of features and TV series including Wisting and Atlantic Crossing. Hanson also worked inhouse at BBC Drama on award-winning shows including Waking The Dead and Occupation.

Matilde Nørgaard

The trio will be joined in their new venture by junior producer Matilde Nørgaard, with their development slate including local-language dramas for Sweden and Denmark alongside English-language projects, which they will look to co-produce with international partners.

The company has a broad range of projects in development including dramedy Neighbourhood Watch for a Scandinavian broadcaster and a coming-of-age mystery crime series with up-and-coming director Kasper Møller-Jensen.

Nevis is also collaborating with The Bridge star Sofia Helin and producer Jacob Raben on a geo-political medical thriller titled Wake and penned by UK Skins writer Jamie Brittain.
