Apple TV+ strikes first-look deal with Scott Free Productions
Apple TV+ has struck an international first-look deal with Scott Free Productions, the Ridley Scott-led firm behind CBS drama The Good Wife and HBO Max’s forthcoming series Raised By Wolves.
The agreement sees Scott Free developing TV projects for the tech giant’s streaming service, with shows being overseen and exec produced by Scott, David Zucker, Jordan Sheehan and Clayton Krueger.
Scott Free, which earlier this week unveiled an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations with the BBC and FX in the US, was launched in 1995 and has been behind movies such as The Martian as well as numerous TV shows.
Other shows on the slate include forthcoming drama The Last Duel for Disney+, Amazon’s Man In The High Castle, CBS hits The Good Wife and spin-off The Good Fight, as well as AMC drama The Terror.
Apple already has deals with companies including Imagine Documentaries and Sesame Workshop, plus agreements with talents such as Jason Katims, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Sharon Horgan.
Scott, who struck a production deal for broadcast projects with CBS Television Studios in 2015, is set to direct his first TV project with the adaptation of UK drama Raised By Wolves. The show is set to premiere via soon-to-launch streamer HBO Max.
