Lionsgate signs first-look deal with ‘Mr Mercedes’ producer Temple Hill
US-Canadian entertainment company Lionsgate has signed a multi-year first-look TV deal with US-based Mr Mercedes producer Temple Hill Productions.
The deal is an expansion of Lionsgate’s existing relationship with Temple Hill after the two companies worked together on a number of feature films, including the Twilight Saga, Power Rangers, Uncle Drew and Down A Dark Hall.
Under the new partnership, Temple Hill will create premium scripted series for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.
Temple Hill Productions was founded in 2006 by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, who recently returned to the company after serving as President of Paramount’s Motion Picture Group. As well as its feature film output, the company’s TV portfolio includes ABC’s Revenge, Hulu’s Looking For Alaska, HBO’s The Outsider and Mr Mercedes, which was originally made for the now-defunct Audience but recently picked up by Peacock.
The company is also behind Dave for FXX/Hulu and Love, Victor, also for Hulu, both of which have been picked up for second seasons.
“Temple Hill has been part of the Lionsgate family for years, and we’re incredibly excited to expand our relationship into the world of television,” said Lionsgate EVP, television & head of development, Scott Herbst.
“They’re prolific, multifaceted and remarkably creative producers and we are very proud to partner with them to bring top of the line new content to our scripted programming slate.”
