Blumhouse TV rejigs after tapping NBCU alum Chris McCumber as president

Blumhouse TV has appointed former USA Network & Syfy chief Chris McCumber as its president, with incumbent Jeremy Gold moving to a new role overseeing production.

McCumber will oversee all areas of the company’s TV output and joins having most recently been president of entertainment networks for the cable entertainment arm of NBCUniversal, where he had been for almost two decades.

He departed in September following the major restructuring work carried out by Mark Lazarus, chairman of NBCU Television & Streaming division.

The rejig also comes a month after Blumhouse TV’s co-president Marci Wiseman stepped down from her role at the US-based producer, which has been behind The Jinx and Sharp Projects.

Wiseman’s exit, which was due to personal reasons, saw her remit being taken on by fellow co-president Gold, who is now president of production at Blumhouse, reporting into McCumber.
