ITV Studios-owned Twofour is expanding its reality and entertainment activities and has appointed Louise Hutchinson to lead the company’s efforts.

Hutchinson takes the newly created role of head of entertainment at Twofour, which the prodco said “signals a commitment to reignite the legacy of great reality and entertainment hits” such as celebrity challenge The Jump and studio entertainment format This Time Next Year.

She has previously worked on a range of entertainment and reality shows, including The Greatest Dancer, Celebrity Big Brother, The Only Way is Essex, Celebs Go Dating and most recently BBC One’s remake of Korean format I Can See Your Voice.

Hutchinson will be tasked with coming up with new ideas for both terrestrial and SVOD players, the latter of which in particular have been recently looking to expand their activities in the genre.

She will report into chief creative office David Brindley, who said Hutchinson’s “creative flair for developing and executing some of the biggest shows on television” would help the company’s entertainment and reality efforts to grow.

“Louise’s appointment means we’re now able to add the highest senior fire power to our entertainment output which will complement our already strong documentary, factual entertainment, formats and specialist factual teams,” he added.

Twofour, which is run by former BBC exec Brindley – who joined the company last year – and MD Dan Adamson, has been building up its senior creative team over the past 12 months including the hiring of Electric Ray’s Natalie McArdle as director of development.

That followed a restructuring following the departures of former bosses Melanie Leach and Andrew Mackenzie, who set up ITV Studios-backed venture South Shore Entertainment.

Twofour’s entertainment slate this year has included One World: Together At Home for BBC One and docuseries Educating…, which returned to Channel 4.
