All3’s Raw hires BBC Studios exec Fiona Clarke as COO
All3Media-owned UK factual producer Raw has appointed BBC Studios (BBCS) exec Fiona Clarke to take the newly created position of COO.
Clarke will report to Raw’s CEO Joely Fether and work closely with MD Piers Vellacott and founder Dimitri Doganis to support the business across all operational areas.
She will take up the role in early 2021 having held a number of roles at BBC Studios, where she was most recently director of business & commercial for BBCS’s factual output and worked on shows including The Surgeon’s Cut for Netflix and Blue Planet II for BBC One.
She also worked for BBCS’s Science Unit, The Natural History Unit and The Documentary Unit, and before that was head of business affairs for Discovery UK.
Fether, whose company is behind Netflix’s Don’t F**k With Cats and Channel 4’s Three Identical Strangers, said Clark had a “deep understanding of the challenges and changes needed within our industry, alongside a real appreciation of the operational needs of a growing business.
“Piers and I are incredibly excited to be bringing someone into the company with such a fantastic reputation to work and support us both in the next phase of Raw.”
Clarke added: “The incredible range of programmes they make, from Don’t F**k With Cats and the extraordinary Gold Rush brand, to important productions such as Drowning In Plastic and Chris Packham: Asperger’s And Me, make them creatively a really exciting company to work with. I’m looking forward to joining the team in the New Year, during this period of huge growth, both in volume and ambition.”
