Acorn TV pre-buys ‘Jack Irish’ S3; DCD takes global distribution rights
AMC Networks-owned US streamer Acorn TV has pre-bought the third and final season of crime drama Jack Irish, following UK distributor DCD Rights taking global rights (excluding Australia) for the show.
Produced by East Tiger Production for ABC Australia, in association with Film Victoria, Jack Irish: Hell Bent (4 x 60-minutes) is due to bring the story to a close.
Guy Pearce plays the eponymous Irish, a criminal lawyer turned troubleshooter whose story comes full circle when he discovers that there is more to Isabel’s seemingly random murder than he believed, and calls into question how much he can really trust his friend, homicide detective Barry Tregear.
“The first two series of Jack Irish have been extremely well received by viewers around the world looking for an engaging, hard-hitting and character-driven drama. We are extremely pleased to have acquired the feature-length movies and delighted that this new, highly-charged third series has already been picked up by Acorn TV for North America. We look forward to announcing further Jack Irish sales in the coming months,” said DCD Rights CEO Nicky Davies Williams.
