Hillary Clinton’s HiddenLight hires Channel 4 commissioner as creative director
Hillary Clinton’s HiddenLight Productions has appointed Channel 4 commissioner Siobhan Sinnerton to the newly created role of creative director & SVP of unscripted.
Sinnerton was most recently commissioning editor for news & current affairs and immersive content at the UK broadcaster, which she joined in 2010.
Her most recent project, For Sama, was nominated for an Oscar and the exec has also worked across a raft of factual and consumer series, including Supershoppers, Life After Lock-Up and 24 Hours In Police Custody. Sinnerton also established C4’s Unreported World YouTube channel and experimented with VR, with Grenfell: Our Home.
Sinnerton will report to CEO, Johnny Webb at At HiddenLight, where she will be responsible for growing the company’s slate of premium unscripted content globally.
HiddenLight was founded late last year by Clinton and daughter Chelsea alongside activist and filmmaker Sam Branson. It has already secured an Apple TV+ commission and has also acquired adaptation rights to author Gayle Tzemach Lemmon’s upcoming book The Daughters Of Kobani.
The business is based in London, New York and LA and led by executive chair Roma Khanna and Webb. Khanna previously served as CEO of Revolt Media and president of MGM Television Group and Digital, whilst Webb was CEO of Sundog Pictures and formerly MD of the Living TV Group.
“Siobhan is perfectly aligned with our mission to celebrate the best of the human spirit,” said Webb. “She has built an outstanding network of talent on and off screen and has a reputation for nurturing lasting relationships. Siobhan’s love for premium storytelling, impact and innovation makes her a very exciting addition to our senior team.”
Sinnerton added: “[HiddenLight] truly understand the difference that television can make to people’s lives and, through their founders, their experienced team, their nurturing approach to talent and their transatlantic footprint, the company has the opportunity to make a huge impact globally.”
