Amazon seeks new head of UK originals
Amazon Studios Europe is looking to hire a new head of UK originals, reporting into Georgia Brown, whose remit has been expanded.
The new hire will work with Brown, who joined Amazon Studios as head of European originals from Fremantle in 2017, and will oversee a team developing and commissioning a slate of scripted and non-scripted content for the Prime Video service.
The executive will be responsible for supporting the growth of Prime Video in the UK and working “hand in hand” with Brown to further its ambitions in the territory and compete in the market.
“We are looking for a creative leader with the proven ability to manage teams across all genres, solving day-to-day production problems as well as wider regulatory and other ad hoc issues relevant to the territory,” writes Amazon in the job ad on its website.
This “proven leader” will be someone who “thrives under pressure, works autonomously and is excited by the challenge of raising the bar for our customers in the UK and supporting growth, engagement and awareness of Prime Video.”
Prime Video is home to UK-produced original series including Good Omens, The Grand Tour, All Or Nothing: Manchester City and the upcoming drama series The Power.
