Amazon Studios hires former Legendary TV president to complete recent restructure
Amazon Studios has completed the restructuring of its senior exec ranks in the US by hiring former Legendary TV president Nick Pepper as head of studio creative content.
Pepper will be tasked with discovering, developing and packaging IP from within the Amazon Studios ranks in his newly created role, as well as leading on overall deals with talent.
His remit stretches across SVOD Prime Video and Amazon’s AVOD streamer IMDb TV, with his team including Amanda Greenblatt and Steve Prinz, who look after first-look and overall deals. Lauren O’Connor leads on IP and literary projects.
His appointment comes six weeks since Amazon Studios reorganised its team, with former NBC head of drama Laura Lancaster appointed head of series.
The streamer’s production division also promoted its former drama chief Marc Resteghini to head of development as part of the restructure, with Pepper now taking the final role that oversees IP and talent management.
All three execs report to Amazon Studios’ co-heads of TV, Vernon Sanders and Albert Cheng.
Pepper joins after three years with Legendary TV, where he worked on shows including Amazon’s Carnival Row and upcoming Paper Girls.
His exit comes two months after the company consolidated its international and domestic TV businesses under Chris Albrecht, who was named head of Legendary Television.
