Acorn TV lands on Prime in Spain
AMC Networks’ British content streamer Acorn TV has launched in Spain on Amazon Prime Video.
The €3.99 per month SVOD is available on the service as an add-on subscription, and offers a wide range of content from the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada, in both their Castilian dubbed and subtitled versions. Highlights on the platform include Doc Martin, Detectorists and Kingdom.
Matthew Graham, Acorn TV’s General Manager, said: “Acorn TV has been remarkably successful at bringing some of the most iconic and critically acclaimed international mysteries and drama series to subscribers worldwide, so we’re very excited to expand our distribution in Spain with our partners at Amazon Prime Video.”
Boat Rocker shops Covid doc
Boat Rocker Studios has inked a deal with podcast creator the Audio Drama Initiative to distribute global TV rights to its first two-part visual documentary Covid America.
The project takes an in-depth look into how ordinary people affected by Covid-19 are moving forward with their lives, filmed across eight US states, over 3,500 miles, in two weeks.
“We are thrilled to be working with Boat Rocker Studios,” said director and producer Mitchell Maxwell. “Covid America is an inspiring, true insight into what real people, speaking from the heart, have experienced this past year. As filmmakers, we learned first-hand that despite the woe, Americans filled with grit and resilience, have endured. As producers, we couldn’t have imagined a better partner than Boat Rocker in the endeavour to get Covid America out to the world.”
