Showtime bolsters drama team by naming two VP’s of scripted
US cablenet Showtime has bolstered its scripted ranks with the addition of two drama-focused VP’s.
Danielle De Jesus and Dave Binegar both become VP of scripted programming with remits across development and reporting into EVP of scripted Amy Israel, according to US reports.
De Jesus was most recently SVP of development at US prodco End Of Episode, where she worked on shows including Starz drama Power, and before that was director of current at UCP.
Binegar had been director of originals at Showtime, working on shows such as Your Honour, and previously had spells at Pixar.
Showtime has been increasing its originals output of late, ordering a new drama series about Zulu Empire chief Shaka and an adaptation of Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist’s vampire horror novel Let The Right One In, to be produced by Tomorrow Studios.
Fellow drama Yellowjackets was also ordered to pilot late last year, while a spin-off from hit drama Dexter is also in the works.
