Amazon orders Spanish adaptation of ‘The Great British Bake Off’

Amazon in Spain has ordered a 10-part local adaptation of Love Productions’ format The Great British Bake Off.

Celebrity Bake Off España will be produced by local outfit Boxfish TV and feature 12 contestants as they attempt to impress judges with their cakes and pastries.

The 10 x 50-minute show is being exec produced by Editors Walter and Mariano Tomiozzo.

Format rights to the show are sold by BBC Studios, which also distributes the original Bake Off format. It has struck 35 deals worldwide including a recent launch in Morocco, while Spanish broadcaster Telecinco ordered a local version of this show in 2018.

Spin-offs including Bake Off Junior have also been made in the Netherlands and Denmark.

Sky-backed Love Productions previously worked with Amazon in Spain on an 8 x 30-minute series on footballer Sergio Ramos.
