ITV2 spins Monkey’s ‘Celebrity Karaoke Club’ with drag version
ITV2 in the UK has ordered a spin-off version of NBCUniversal format Celebrity Karaoke Club featuring drag stars, while the original show has also been extended into a second season.
Karaoke Club: Drag Edition will debut in the Autumn on ITV2 and streamer ITV Hub, featuring stars as they attempt to impress their fellow singers to be crowned the winner.
The NBCUniversal Format-owned IP is being produced in the UK by NBCUniversal International Studios-owned producer Monkey.
The company is also producing the second season of the original show with a batch of new celebrity singers, which will air this summer on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
Both show have been commissioned by Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels & acquisitions at ITV, and Peter Tierney, commissioning editor for entertainment at ITV.
