BritBox hires from AMC
BritBox North America has hired Nada Arnot to become its SVP of marketing.
Reporting to BritBox North America head Emily Powers, Arnot will be charged with managing the marketing and communications across the business.
Arnot’s appointment comes as the BBC Studios/ITV joint-venture streamer is planning an expansion to 25 countries.
The exec joins from AMC Networks, where she served as GM of Sundance Now. She was also previously head of networks for AMC Networks’ SVOD business.
BBCS appoints ITV duo for unscripted
BBC Studios (BBCS) has appointed ITV duo Aoife Owen and Jessica Byars to lead its unscripted brands and marketing business.
The duo, who will job share, have an expansive remit that ranges from motoring brand Top Gear to BBCS’s natural history umbrella brand BBC Earth, which markets titles such as Blue Planet II, A Perfect Planet and Seven Worlds, One Planet.
Owen and Byars, who were previously controllers of marketing, entertainment, ITV2 and ITVBe, will be tasked with leading the full life cycle marketing, brand management and integrated commercial planning for all unscripted content, brands and services globally.
They report into BBCS’s recently appointed brands & marketing SVP, Penny Brough.
Acorn TV Launches in Spain
AMC-owned British content streamer Acorn TV has launched in Spain on Orange TV.
The service will be available to Orange TV for €3.99 ($4.83) per month, and will offer content in both english and dubbed in Castilian Spanish.
Orange said that it will offer an initial promotion, with its customers offered a free month trial if they sign up before 9 June.
The launch of Acorn TV further enhances Orange TV’s OTT portfolio, which also includes AMC Selekt, Somos and the AI-powered channel SELEKT.
All3Media & Alchimie partner for US channel launch
UK-based All3Media International and French OTT SVOD platform Alchimie have signed a strategic content partnership to co-publish genre-led OTT channel Inside Outside – House & Garden in the US.
The streaming English-language channel airs design shows and competitions, such as Gardener’s World With Monty Don, Great Interior Design Challenge and Love Your Garden With Alan Titchmarsh, and will now be available on subscription on Alchimie’s newly launched TVPlayer US platform and all main digital platforms.
The deal also sees 400 hours of All3Media International’s factual content being placed onto Alchimie’s French-speaking European network of themed SVOD channels, including; ‘Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story, The Real Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and The Royal Wives of Windsor.
