Disney & BBCS extend Bluey

Disney has picked up a third season of Australian animation Bluey, with the show set to air on its channels and streaming service around the world.

The series was created by Joe Brumm and is produced by Ludo Studio for the ABC in Oz and BBC Studios, which co-commissioned the show and distributes.

The show follows a lovable and inexhaustible six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her dad, mum, and four-year-old little sister, Bingo.

Its third season will premiere globally on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+ in all territories outside of Australia, New Zealand, and China.

Total Dramarama

WarnerMedia among Dramarama deals

WarnerMedia has picked up rights to Total Dramarama, the prequel to hit kids franchise Total Drama.

The second and third seasons of the show, which is produced by Fresh TV and sold by UK outfit CAKE, has been sold to WarnerMedia for German-speaking territories, Benelux, Eastern Europe, APAC and Latin America.

PopTV has snagged rights in the UK, K2 and DeAkids have taken the show in Italy, and in Spain it has been sold to Super 3.

Canal+ in France and ABC in Oz have also signed up for the second season of the series, which targets kids aimed 6-11.

The show’s third season is set to premiere on Cartoon Network in the US and Teletoon in Canada during the middle of 2021.

Sinking Ship hoists global sales

Canada-based Sinking Ship Entertainment has struck a raft of deals for its children’s content, with broadcasters including SVT in Sweden picking up Annedroids.

The show has also been sold to NRK in Norway and relicensed to Knowledge Kids and TVO Kids in Canada, while Chirp has been relicensed by the country’s pubcaster CBC.

Dino Dana has been sold to Coupang in South Korea and Astro in Malaysia and Brunei via Bomanbridge, while SVT has added the second season of Endlings.

Other deals have seen Odd Squad sold to Netflix in Canada, with the show’s third season also picked up by Hop! in Israel and relicensed by CBBC in the UK.
