ITVS hires NBCUniversal exec to oversee South Asia sales
ITV Studios (ITVS) has appointed NBCUniversal (NBCU) exec Kunal Shah to work across its distribution efforts in South Asia.
Shah becomes sales director at the Line Of Duty distributor and will be based in Mumbai, reporting into Augustus Dulgaro, EVP of distribution for Asia Pacific at ITVS.
He will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and maximising the value of ITVS’s 46,000+ hour catalogue, which includes dramas such as The Pembrokeshire Murders, format duo Love Island and The Voice, and factual series including Trump’s America.
Shah’s move comes after a five-year stint at NBCU, where he managed all content licensing across linear and digital in India and other South Asian countries.
Dulgaro said: “Kunal’s authority and depth of experience in the Indian market is a welcome addition to ITV Studios and I am delighted to welcome him to the APAC team.”
Shah added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining ITV Studios and looking forward to seeing what more we can do in India. ITV Studios has some great stories to tell and it’s really exciting. There’s a whole lot of scope to localise the content and grow the business on licensing too.”
