Fremantle appoints C4, BBC Studios alum to lead UK talent
Fremantle has hired Victoria Roye from UK broadcaster Channel 4 as head of its talent division.
Roye will oversee freelance staffing across its labels, including Thames, Talkback and Naked.
She will focus on recruiting diverse talent for shows such as The Apprentice, Britain’s Got Talent, Grand Designs, Eating With My Ex, The Rap Game UK and I Can See Your Voice.
Roye, who is based in Manchester and London, was previously a talent exec at C4 and held the same role at BBC Studios before that, working on shows including Strictly Come Dancing, Dragons Den, Eurovision, Comic Relief, Children in Need and Mastermind.
She also founded TV Talent North, which has helped talent work with C4, the BBC, ITV, Viacom and 26 Indies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Simon Andreae, CEO at Fremantle UK, said: “Victoria has an exceptional eye for the best of both experienced and emerging talent not just in London but right across the UK. She’s positive, passionate and will be a huge asset to all our production labels in seeking to secure, support and retain the most skilled and collaborative production teams in the business.”
Victoria Roye said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Channel 4 and my drive for diversity and inclusion will continue to be at the front and centre of all that I do in this new role.”
