Off The Fence bolsters development with BBC Studios, Top Hat alum addition

Factual producer-distributor Off The Fence (OTF) has followed up its recent management overhaul by appointing a former BBC Studios and Top Hat exec for development.

Becky Pott becomes development producer at ZDF Enterprises-owned OTF, which recently reorganised its operations to focus on three pillars of programming and also appointed Allison Bean as creative chief.

Pott has worked for nearly a decade in documentaries with stints at companies including Mindhouse and Lambent.

She has specialised in access docs exploring subjects including crime, mental health, history and art, with credits on Louis Theroux: The Night In Question and Louis Theroux: Mothers On The Edge for BBC Two, Max Clifford: The Fall Of A Tabloid King for Channel 4, and Grierson Award-winning Raped: My Story for ViacomCBS’s Channel 5.

Bean, OTF’s chief content officer, added: “Today’s constantly developing market features more places to sell content than ever before. And this content can take a wide range of formats. Investing directly into our own brand opens up a world of new opportunities. Investing in the development team is investing in the heart of any creative company.”

OTF’s recent revamp came six months after the arrival of former Red Arrow Studios exec Bo Stehmeier, who returned to the company as CEO.
